Dune House, a stunning old house right on the beach, is finally ready to be reopened as a bed and breakfast. Best friends, Suzie and Mary, are very excited that their hard work has paid off and the opening weekend has finally arrived. They are even more excited that they have guests booked in on opening day.
But before the B & B is officially opened Mary is distracted by a surprise guest and Suzie is distracted by her blossoming romance with Paul. When their guests do arrive they get more than they bargained for. Not only do they have to accommodate a very pretentious guest and an unusual guest but there is a problem with the plumbing.
Then someone is found murdered. With the reputation of Dune House to protect, Suzie and Mary want the murder solved quickly so they do a little investigating of their own to speed up the investigation.

I like Cindy Bell Cozy mysteries because they are fast paced and a good story. She always has good characters that you can relate to. Suzie, Mary, Paul & Jason are back for another Dune House adventure. This time, Mary's son Ben adds to the mix. Opening Day of the B&B proves to be chaotic. Suzie and Mary have Dune House ready for their opening. All does not go well. The guests cause problems. When the water supply to the heater requires a plumber Suzie gets one to come. Unfortunately he ends up dead.
As always, this book is filled with many unique and odd characters. Often the biggest mysteries in her books aren't in the main plot line. I love the descriptions of the locations in the book.
I always enjoy a quick short read by Cindy Bell. Treasured History was no exception to that rule. It was fun with several twist and turns and ended well so I will look forward to the next Dune House Cozy Mystery.
A quick read which sometimes fulfills the reading urge. It is good to know along with a mystery there is. Romance in the making.
The characters are delightful and setting lovely. Cindy Bell has a real knack for a good story. They are the perfect length for a bedtime read. Easy to finish in one sitting. I look forward to reading the next 2 books in the series. Each one seems to get more interesting.
I like the setting and the author's descriptive writing. I did find it a bit too repetitive both on reliving past books and dialogue between characters. I have read all 3 books in series and for me this one was weakest to date. But was an entertaining (enough) quick read.
Ms. Bell is an exceptionally creative and prolific author. She has written several different series. Her characters seem very real because they act like real people that we all know---yes, even the kooky ones. As always. the development of both the plot and the setting is great. A good, cosy read. Enjoy!
